Maclaren Major or simalar ,how can i get one for my daughter?

Options
My daughter is 3.4 years old but the size of a small 5 year old, she has Autism, she can walk but sometimes refuses to or runs off. She is now too big for her stroller and today it broke. We are planning a few days out over the summer and with her walking it would be a struggle.

Is it possible to get funding for a Major or is there anywhere i can get one on loan?

I can't afford to buy one unless i can find one 2nd hand.

Thanks.

Hi, my daughter got hers from wheelchair services, the OT assessed her then contacted W.S. I think it took about 8 weeks. Sometimes you can pick them up on ebay, but tbh i'd try OT first. Good Luck x
  • It may be a long shot, but it might be worth you placing a request on Freecycle.

I frequently see mobility scooters requested and received in my area, so you would have nothing to lose by making a request.

  • Hi, My daughter was refered to the wheelchair clinic by her Physio. The physios also have a central stock reserve, so they may have one in the stores for you to try out.
