London Eats

I am in London for a week and (thanks to the wonderful MSE'ers) i have managed to organise my activities for the week with minimal costs.
This just leaves me to arrange food/eating out on the cheap. I am staying in a travelodge, and so have no refridgeration facilities, and think i may struggle to make my own lunches, so am looking for cheap places to eat in or takeout around kensington, embankment, southbank and the city (where the travelodge is).
I am also looking for some nicer places to eat in the evening, though still bearing budget in mind.
I am taking advantage of the pizza express orange weds offer, and the bella pasta fixed menu, both in kensington, other than that i have no further ideas.
All reccomendations (or warnings) appreciated :-)

Hi
I used to work in the South Kensington area and here are my suggestions for cheapie eats when you are visiting the museums.
At the underground station, there is a Subway where you can get Sub of the day for £1.99. Actually Subways everywhere offer that and it would fill you up for lunch.
If you are at the station, walk towards Old Brompton Road and look for Bute street which is on your right. There is a small pizza joint (not the most glamorous one) which do cheap small pizza and drink for less than £5. Along there, visit the gelateria Oddonos. Fantastic gelato and slightly more expensive than a Mr Whippy. There is a Tesco's Express along Old Brompton Road.
If you want a lovely treat, La bouchee at Old Brompton Road is a lovely French restaurant and they usually do a great prixe fixe menu for lunch for around £10.95
If you are heading towards Harrods from the museums, there is a Sainsbury Local where you could buy sandwiches. Alternatively, you can pop into Harrods. I remember getting a lovely smoked salmon and cheese bagel at the Salmon counter for £2.95. Krispy Kreme at the back of the store will obliged you with a free donut while you are waiting and if they don't, you can always ask for one.0 -
We recently ate out in London (very nice, posh restaurant) but booked through toptable so saved over £100 on the food bill! Well worth a look if you have time.
