Hi, I am new to this board and actually kind of new in the crual world of UK insurance policies.
I moved something like two years ago from France to the UK and got a Tesco dental insurance when I arrived, and went for dental checkup few months ago and there is some work to do.
However I did not notice that Tesco insurance would not cover any work if I didnt visit a dentist within the last twelve months.

Now I did half of the work and much work to be done left.
Is there any known way to cope with that? Should I say to my dentist to not treat the remaining teeth and come back in 6 months to get the non-urgent work done?
Should I give the address of the french dentist I went 2- years ago and claim it was a year ago if they do not check?

I feel so screwed paying for a years a policy that would refuse to cover me. That sorts of things do not exist in France. That's just a shame.

Thanks for your suggestions.

The policy clearly states it won't pay for private treatment which is required if you haven't visited a dentist for 12 months.

Can't see them paying out without checking up on your claim by asking your previous dentist to confirm you were "clear" 12 months ago. So lying on your claim form is not advised and could result in them voiding cover and wanting repaying any other claim they have paid out on.

Maybe you could transfer to an NHS dentist?
