Paypal and item handed over in person

I asked for cash on collection but the buyer has used Paypal. Should I ask them to reverse this?
My understanding is that I have no protection from Paypal should they issue a chargeback at a later date, even if I have a receipt for the item.

Yes refund them and ask them for cash on collection. You will not have any proof of receipt as far as paypal are concerned.0

If paypal was offered as an accepted payment option (and it has to be on most listings), you have to accept payment that way if that's what the buyer wishes.
However, you are leaving yourself open to a successful paypal claim for non receipt when an item is paid for by paypal and collected in person."Now to trolling as a concept. .... I asked nicely and they were fine with it. Thanks for the info though. I don't sell very often. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Whoops - you posted earlier whilst I was still typing my response

Yes, most honest ebayers shouldn't have any issue with paying in cash - I normally offer this when I ask if I can collect an item (and such option isn't listed). Not only does it protect the seller against any chargeback and saves the seller paypal fees (the saving paypal fees is usually what I say to the seller), it also protects the buyer as they are free to inspect & accept the item before parting with their money.
