Under investigation

I just cant believe it, you think the bad times are over but then something else comes along to hit you in the teeth.

About 9 years ago my hubby and I were both made redundant (me from a major high street bank) within three weeks of each other and financially everything fell apart. We picked up several CCJ's as a result which we eventually paid off about 5 years later.

Last October the satisfied CCJs finally fell off our credit files and I began applying for jobs at other banks. I thought that we had finally overcome everything when I got a job for one of the big banks in Feb of this year. I am really enjoying being back in the banking world because thats what I spent 11 years doing previously and I loved it. Today I find that despite never exceeding our overdraft, never having anything returned unpaid, never having to pay a penny in bank charges etc on my new staff joint account that my acc is being investigated by staff credit services. We are in credit and I know that I deal with customers daily who have far worse financial situations.

I am at my witts end to see when it will all end.

I know there is nothing at all negative on our credit files because I subscribe to equifax & get unlimited access and credit alerts if anything changes. I have checked our file just now and it is clean.

Just having a moan but am really cheeeeezzzzed.....

Can I ask how you know this?
Have you been given a formal warning/notice of this investigation and if so on what basis.
I hope that you are a union member and if so turn to them for practical help and advise.

    Hi

I know this to be the case because we are allowed to view our own accounts but not carry out any transactions on work terminals. So I can see that they are investigating our account from a specific code that has now appeared on the account.

I dont think there is anything I can do but just sit it out. I know that there isnt any bad info out there about us but wonder if the problem is our account turnover. We dont exceed facilities etc but dont tend to have much left over at the end of the month, in other words cash comes in and goes straight back out.

Dont want to lose my job though, am going to join the union tomorrow.

    cheers

Maybe it is just a random check? When I worked in a bank we were always told that they checked a small percentage of staff accounts, I never knew if it was true or not.

    Soo

    Hi

When I applied I was asked if I had any current CCjs or bad info and it was explained that I would have to pass a credit check before a job could be offered.

I didnt say I had previous ccjs because they were paid off and had dropped off the credit files. So I didnt lie I didnt have any current bad info or ccjs.

I also passed their credit check when the offered me the job.

None the wiser, but think possibley the are just checking us out...might find out tomorrow.

    Thanks
