I like this as I'm the worlds most hopeless cook, all the ingredients [bar a couple] plus recipes for £25 for a week - not a bad deal for those of us that don't like cooking or find it hard to be inspired

  • fantastic find, looks like the supermarkets are starting to give us recipe ideas, Sainsburys meals for a fiver etc

Markseys also have great recipe cards on their website

You'd be better off taking this list as a guide, but choosing the products yourself, as I am sure you could knock a few more pence, or even pounds off of that total by not purchasing Organic Kidney Beans (for example), basic ones are fine.

That total is far from accurate anyway, it does seem to assume that you have a lot of the ingredients already in your cupboard...but I certainly don't have wholegrain mustard, concentrated beef stock or chilli powder lying around...so getting those would add a few quid to that total.

I think the idea is good but like zenseeker, i'd choose the products myself. I could get all that for a lot less than £25.

I just tried the link and it appears to be working fine. Are you still having problems? I am using IE 8, maybe it's a browser compatability problem?

but why do the recipes feed varying amounts of people? The number of people i need to feed in my house, doesnt really change. following that menu, a family of 4 can only eat on day one or day seven, or you have to spend more than the quoted £25 to buy double the ingredients most days

also they call it a supper menu (is that the posh word for evening meal?), to me supper would be a snack before bed, not a proper meal

I think it wasn't on the website, it looked like an old issue of a magazine, I assume the M&S one. It said Jan/Feb on the page bottom. Maybe the OP can tell us more.
