Very Very important. In most of OZ supermarkets don't sell booze. You have to go to a BOTTLE SHOP. I thought I'd add that as I spent a week in the supermarket looking for it.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink, because when they wake up in a morning,
that's as good as they're going to feel all day! (DM)

    HI

I'm Australian - been living in UK for 8 years - before that travelled & lived all over that sunburnt land! I've lived and worked from Ayers Rock Resort Uluru to an investment company in Perth to photocopier manufacturers in Sydney - so feel free to ask away!

I thoroughly recommend Emirates. Qantas and BA service standards have completely slipped and we won't travel long haul with them again (have done so quite a few times in the past but no more!)

Emirates were really comfy and fantastic service (we have travelled twice long haul with them.)

As we live in Scotland that also meant we could bypass dreaded Heathrow adn also that 13 hour+ flight to singapore. (emirates travel Glasgow - Dubai - Perth with flight times about 9 & 10 hrs each).

Internal flights look out for specials on
    www.virgin-blue.com.au andwww.jetstar.com.au

I would definitely go and see Western Australia - so many people leave it til las and only spend a few days there - to come back and tell me they wish they had spent the majority of their time in WA.

Lots of great advice above - if you want to know anything specific, please just pm me happy to help.

    A few things to note
§ Christmas and New Year will be very hot, and I mean very. Always take plenty of water and sunscreen, hats etc.., with you, you might think oh it's a cloudy but warm day - and that's when you'll end up with 3rd degree burns and dehydration if you don't prepare
§ Get up early, go for a swim and have fruit on the beach – it sounds daft but when you’re ready to take a bit of a break from the travel, the best (and cheapest way) to chill and unwind is breakfast and a swim on an uncrowded beach early morning. It will still be warm but you’ll not run the risk of burning to a crisp! We have a saying “between 10 and 3 stay under a tree” and it couldn’t be more to the truth!
§ Don’t’ forget to slip slop slap!! (slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat)
