Hi,
We're looking to buy a home cinema system and was wondering if anyone knew of any good web sites? We're after a really good bargain - around £200-£300 but want a decent system.
Have been tracking eBay for quite some time but so far have always just managed to miss out on the best deals at the last minute!!
Thanks.

You aint gonna get a decent system for £300. Add another 0 to the end now your talking decent.
I have a £200 set of speakers in my bed room and they are ok.
If I want to watch somthing and get somthing close to the cinema experience I go downstairs where I have a 5.1 setup with a £550 amp £800 200w sub 3" floor standing speakers, 2 pipolar rears and a a huge centre speaker. about 1000w in total and cost about £2500 when I bought it.
I have had the neighbour accros the street compaining0 -
We don't want top of the market obviously with that budget! We're thinking next year we'll buy a second set for our other room which we'll have more money for (we've just blown our money on getting married). But we still want the best we can get for that price range and we have seen some bargains about so it's definitely possible.
Missed out on a great deal on a Denon set from eBay - £200 it went for instead of over £1000 and it had the best reviews. Pipped at the post!
Well if anyone knows of any bargains or good web sites please let me know. Otherwise it's back to eBayGood job we have plenty of patience to wait for the right deal!

Unless you've got deaf neighbours or live in a remote detached house and your own hearing is absolutely perfect, I'd suggest looking at a decent receiver and speakers set-up to go with your existing DVD player.
You should get a set-up to suit all but 50' + rooms for around £300 - £400 all-in.

i would suggest you need to listen to a few set-ups before parting with your hard earned cash.
If youve got a Richer Sounds near you, why not pop in there to demo a couple of systems to make sure the sound is what you are expecting. Take a couple of DVDs that you are familiar with to watch.
Theyve got a Panasonic set-up for £299 at the moment - might be worth a listen - youve got a guarantee if you buy locally - there are one or two crooks getting onto Ebay nowadays - better to be safe than sorry.
Hope that helps0 -
By the sounds of it, you are after a neat solution which will give good performance for the money and not a top of the range cinema experience.
As such, one of the all-in-one solutions most manufacturers offers should fit the bill.
I would suggest taking a look at one of the sites below as well as some of the AV forums for more detailed advice:
