as I understand it, there would be a good chance they would ask for the gift back if you cancelled and requested a refund.

Still a good spot though, even if £12 has to be paid!

I've now set up a few DD subscriptions then cancelled once I'd received the gifts and I've never been asked to return anything.
These offers are definately worth doing as even if you didn't want the free gift you can stick it on Ebay or whatever.
So far I've got 2 St. Ives skincare sets, 2 Benefit make-up kits, 2 hair care sets worth 52 pounds each, 2 Serums worth 95 pounds each and a Hot Diamonds charm worth 35 pounds. All FREE!
Thanks to everyone who posts the offers! I shall try and post some myself as soon as I find any.

Hi I'm new here. Just wondering, if I cancel the DD via online banking without informing the magazine company that I subscribed from, would they still post mags to me and then ask for the money or they automatically stop sending?
    Thanks!

I was really referring to the practice of requesting a refund . Like yourselkf I have regularly partaken of the trial or 6 mth subscription offers, but I have never taken a gift and then requested a refund.

Anecdotally I have heard that some publishers ask for the gift back if you do that

I really think that depends on the company. I set up a DD with Glamour for 12 months, that was almost 18 months ago now and they still send the magazines but have never taken another payment and I have never renewed the subscription.
I also still receive More magazine despite only setting up a DD for a 6 month subscription last March! I think I've been lucky as this obviously isn't normal proceedure.
If they do send you magazines for free it's their error and you could say you cancelled the DD due to your circumstances changing and did not know you had to inform them. :o

    I've been Money Tipped!
I ordered three different magazines before xmas all on he 3 issues for £1 and they arrived promptly and when I emailed companies to cancel subscription I had no problem at all. Also did it all through quidco and got about £4.50 through them too, needless to say I was very happy!

I have started receiving Auto Trader and would you believe I have no idea when or why I subscribed? Does anyone else know if there was a too good to pass up offer on this recently?
