Barclaycard Initial - Decline

Hi All
I applied for the Initial Card from Barclaycard and was declined - sent in an appeal letter with bank statements, certified copy of passport, bills etc.. and they still said NO.
I have no credit history, have recently moved to live on my own (last 3 months) and I am on the electoral roll (showing on my credit files)
Also tried
Capital One - awaiting decision (said they need 7 days to do extra checks)
Vanquis - awaiting decision
As I am new to credit, I am just looking for a starter card to build up some positive history.
Lets hope I can get accepted by Cap One or Vanquis?

Don't apply for too many cards because you will look desperate. I would guess you have been refused mainly because you have recently move address. Maybe your new address hasn't been updated on your credit file."Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for."

If I were you, I would now wait to have response from your different application, but if you are not successful for any of them then I would suggest to wait 4/6 months before applying for anymore or your credit file will be damaged by doing to many application and you will sound desperate to potential lenders0

I agree with stephane. I would put it down to moving address recently; you will have to wait until you are established in your new home for a good amount of time before reapplying. I am confident if you wait, you will be eligible for a credit-building card."Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for."

capital one also declined me, so it's just Vanquis left to hear from?
Fingers crossed
If they say no also, i am going to wait 6 months and let my files recover from the searches and re-apply
Is it worth appealing to capital one? I have nothing to lose?0 -
you could appeal but to be honest I think it would be a waste of time. Who are you banking with? why have you not tried with your own bank?0

It may be to do with your new address as the same thing happened to me.
I applied for Capital One and O2 around November/December 2008 when I had just moved address but was declined. However, in February this year when my electoral status had been updated on my credit files, I was accepted for both!0
