Route for A5 upgrade?

Meanwhile those of us near Omagh with no A&E will have to battle their way through lorries, buses and damned tractors as we try to get to the Royal to have perhaps life-saving treatment. Some day as they lie in the back of the ambulance going along the A5 I hope this thought enters their heads. Hey ho, the realities of living west of the Bann I suppose.

Don't see why they can't just upgrade the road that is there. apart from a few places it would be very easy to dual carriageway about 80% odd of what is already there... would probably save a fortune in the process..

Besides, we don't want you lot from the West coming up here and taking our jobs!! :rotfl:

Don't know all the engineering details about the route but yes, if that could be done then no problem. Three lanes are no use to us.
Clip on Newsline tonight showed a 3 lane stretch with about 20 vehicles stuck behind a tanker on the single lane side. Enough said!
