Scroll Bars

Hi
Can anybody please help? 0n my computer I have Windows XP and when I go to Outlook Express and open my 'In' box to read my emails the scroll bars have diappeared on my main screen. They are still on in my folders and my contacts windows. I just can't seem to find what I have touched in error to loose them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are no scroll bars in Outlook Express in box until you click an e-mail ,then one appears in bottom half of page.At least thats what happens in mine.
  • I am sure I had scroll bars in my In box, otherwise how would you read any previous emails that you have kept. Any more suggestions please?

If you want to keep an e-mail , you right click and move it to a named folder.

Is it possible that you have OE open as a non-fullscreen (i.e. not Maximised) window and it has simply been accidentally dragged a little to the right so that the scroll bar is beyond the edge of the screen? If so, maximising the window should fix it.
  • Thankyou for your help. I have tried maximising screen but it is already at maximum. When I halve the screen the scroll bars show up. Is there anything else I can try please?

If your screen is similar to this , then its correct.

@ dogmaryxx: True, but as soon as you have got more than a dozen or so emails in your Inbox, scroll bars will appear on the upper right pane as well, as RLL is expecting.

RLL: I'm not sure why that happens, but one thing you can do is to "Unmaximise" the window, then move it by clicking on and dragging the title bar to reposition it at the top left of the screen, and then resize it at the bottom right corner so that it fills the whole screen. Hopefully you should then see your scroll bars Ok.

Or you could leave it as it is and use the scroll wheel on your mouse to scroll each window!

As long as there is space in the "IN" box, no scroll appears. If you require scrolling increase the size of your preview box by dragging it up or remove preview box totally then once inbox is full scrolling facility will appear.

    Hope this resolves query.

Scroll bars generally only appear when there is more information in a pane than there is space in the window to display it.

Are you saying in an oblique fashion that you are missing some e-mails from your inbox?
