although I imagine it's a pretty rare occurrence.Stompa0 -
I applied for a few but never got past the screening stage for various boring reasons
, but still got paid for my time which was nice.
There are different phases for trials normally 1-4, with 1 being a very early trial with more risk and higher payments. Just go with a good company and READ EVERYTHING - this is not a time to skip the T&C's :rotfl: and remember you can always say no at any point - you may lose some of your payment but better that than any alternative.0 -

I wouldn't do it though - too much risk. Keeping healthy is the most important thing IMO no amount of money is worth that.DFW Nerd #11520 -
If you dont want to end up like an extra out of schindler's list i would keep well away, i know a bloke that done it and doe's not look to healthy.0

Hey there, just thought I would throw my opinion in because I work in a company that carries out the trials. I would say that its definitely a good way to get a lump sum of money - depending on which phase the trial is.
Where I work, we only really take on studies where they are trying the drug at different doses or trying one drug against a market brand. (Phase IV)
The trials are all tightly regulated with regular investigations depending on the drug and everyone on site is trained in dealing with any adverse effects.
You might be expected to stay on the site for the duration of the trials but I would definitely say keep an eye out because they can range from trials involving nicotine patches, right up to injecting drugs and likewise the time period can range from days to over a month.
If you have any specific questions, feel free to pm me!2009: Overdraft: £1500 Credit card: [STRIKE]£1000 [/STRIKE] cleared:j0 -
Forgot to add that if you are interested, when you attend the screening process you will get an informed consent form and this will explain everything that will happen during the trial. A doctor and nurse are present at the screening and would answer any questions that you have.2009: Overdraft: £1500 Credit card: [STRIKE]£1000 [/STRIKE] cleared:j0

Btw, all the crazy mutating horror trials you hear are a load of nonsense lol every trial protocol must be passed by an independent ethics committee before it is allowed to go ahead.. (Things can still go wrong though in earlier phase trials and in later phase trials but most of the drugs have been on the market for ages so all the side effects are already known)2009: Overdraft: £1500 Credit card: [STRIKE]£1000 [/STRIKE] cleared:j0
