conservatory with bad fitting ...

I've had a conservatory built some months ago and there are a few things the supplier needs to finish off.

1. Silicone around the outside of the door.
2. Guttering needs repairing (both gutters, one is not straight and one has come off).
3. Both french doors do not close properly (the entrance and exit). I was told this is because i need to plaster yet to hold them in place.
4. I've had a few extra windows installed on a garage to room conversion and they are not toughened, as i think they're meant to be for building regs.

Just found out the supplier doesn't seem to be registered with any of the trade associations he's quoting, though allegedly he's been in business for 15 years.

I paid cash in full upon completion and i just cannot get them to come back and fix the above problems which have occured since then.

What can i do?

Write a polite letter to him pointing out your problems and ask him if he will come and look at them and tell you what he intends to do about them. Give him a timescale - say, 28 days.

If nothing, write again, send recorded delivery. Say if you get no response you will take action in the Small Claims Court.

Thanks for the reply.

I can take it to court at a later stage but what am i claiming for? The cost of repairing/replacing items?
