Vent about Vodafone

I know it's a long story!

I have a vodafone Ireland sim card which I've been using for the past eight months without a problem. One of their offers is that when I'm in the UK I can recieve a call for free, and their website states this. Also that I have free calls and texts to vodafone customers whilst in Ireland.

However, from today (at around 8am) I've been getting charged around 70c per minute for every call I recieve. Something which should be free! I've been on the phone to customer services on four occasions who have said their systems won't show anything until this evening.

So off I go and call up today having accrued about £20 in credit just recieving calls (mostly about jobs so not able to avoid), and they say they can see I've had no charges on my account this morning before 9am. I said this is impossible as I was charged at around 8am which wiped out the remainder of my credit. I then asked them to look at my closing balance last night and then my balance this morning after no calls or texts had been made by myself by 9am. At this point they did confirm they didn't have a clue where the money had gone.

Now I'm stuck with a sim card that is charging me a small fortune to recieve a call, and no way of getting one till next week! Also they aren't acknowledging I'm being charged because their systems don't show it, they seem to think I'm recieving premium texts!

Sorry just needed to let off a bit of steam...I'll definitely be changing networks next time I'm there!

my gripe with them is their inability to unblock the phone they blocked (at my request) when DS lost it.
We got it back eventually (it was found by someone at this school) so I try to unblock it. They ask for the number (sim was vandalised BTW) so I give it them and they KEEP telling me 'it's not a valid vodaphone number' - presumably because it was blocked?

Since DS (who is renowned for taking good care of his phones:rolleyes:) has ruined the LG he bought to replace THAT ^ one now wants the Vodaphone Nokia 'reinstated' I am sending e mail after e mail to them. Mind you it's very moneysaving as DS now has NO phone.
Why can they not unblock the phone they blocked?

Incidentally since Carphone warehouse give out detailed receipts which show bothe IMEI numbers and Mobile Numbers can't phones 4 U do the same?

I suggest you post a thread on the Eforum.

Last time I had issues the mods where the best, They gave me insurance AND a new phone!

My old phone was on contract. screen broke and had water damage. (It was a nokia 5800) I said I was a affiliate etc and they ended up saying pay £25 and you can have a new phone. I was SOO HAPPY!

They don't have an eforum in Ireland otherwise I would!

The problem is very erratic, sometimes it will charge you, sometimes it won't. Today I've had four calls which haven't and two which have. Customer services are now admitting it's a problem and that they are working to fix it and I should get all my credit back. Who knows when that will be though!

Have you registered for "passport" ? Could be some networks think Ireland is not part of the UK.

I'm registered for Passport and have been for the past seven months.

It's a problem with the network, they have advised me they are working to fix it but who knows when it'll be!

the eforum...by its very nature is a forum online accessible from anywhere, what the other poster meant was the mods on the forum are really good at sorting out problems....especially the stuff the call handlers haven't a clue about...they may take a few days, but the beauty is , you do it by email...they go and check out the solution and get back to you...in some cases other regular posters can give advice on the forum itself...rather like here, so you may find it useful to have a quick look

ps. I'm Irish and currently sitting in my daughters flat in Heaton as I type....her and my wife have gone shopping!

    Thanks!

I found the eforum eventually, and did post late last night about it.

It appears the issue must be resolved, as at the moment I have like €90 credit on my phone, so they've credited back!
