The idea of this is you tell the pharmacist what the problem is and they will give you the medicine - it's to save the NHS money as it stops you from visiting your doctor and having to get a prescription! I have had several things free from Boots because of this - including head lice treatment for my children - which would have cost £12.00! Sometimes if I run a bit low on things like children's ibuprofen or liquid paracetamol I go in and say one of them has a cold/temperature and they give me another bottle...
How do you do that? That sounds fab!!Mummy to 4, Grafter, Comper, Blogger

Think that might just be certain pharmacies in certain areas? Someone at work once mentioned this, but it turned out to be quite restricted.0 -
We have the service in our area. You have to have your NHS number with you to register with the pharmacy and you must have the person in question with you, that is they should not issue medicines for a child unless that child is with you. Usually it is for items which are available over the counter but for which the doctor would give you a prescription. It's worth asking your pharmacy if they have the scheme cos if you don't pay prescription charges for any reason it saves you a trip to the doctor's surgery.0

we told my son that the van playing music sold vegetables, it worked beautifully until grandpa started picking him up from school. Lo and behold he asked for an ice cream from the ice cream van thereafter. doh!0

You are all so mean with the ice cream van. Though I have always been grateful that it doesn't stop on my road. So I am just as bad.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
