How do I keep useful cookies (using CCleaner)

I have just downloaded CCleaner to use for cleaning cookies for cashback sites like Quidco etc.

There are probably cookies that I want to keep for forums like this, that "remember me" when I come back! Also, will deleting cookies effect my internet banking etc?

Many thanks.

    Open ccleaner

    Click Options then Cookies.

Highlight the cookie you want to keep in the list on the left (which is the list of cookies you have on your computer right now) and then click -> to move it over to the 'Cookies to keep' column'

To find the cookie you want easily you might want to do things in this order:
    • Run ccleaner
    • Look at the 'Cookies to delete' column
    • Go to the site you want to keep cookies for
    • Immediately look at the 'Cookies to delete' column again and you'll know that the ones just added belong to the site you've just visited (though some might be from their 3rd party advertisers)
Running ccleaner shouldn't cause you problems with Internet banking. In fact I always run ccleaner right after going to a banking site to make sure there's nothing in my history or cookies that could help find my financial information

    :)

Good advice from SRA but I leave the "delete cookies" box unchecked in crapcleaner and never touch them.
I use a free program called "cookie monster" which allows you to easily control which ones to keep or delete.

Does cccleaner really remove all cookies? Or cookiemonster?
I go to Tools>internet options>remove cookies/files/history but is this ineffective?

Is there any risk btw in getting your PC to recognise your usernames and passwords, particularly on bank sites?
I know you always should log off but does this actually help?
