I had an email to say that I had sold one of my books to a gentleman in Cardiff. I emailed Customer Services to ask them if they could contact buyer to inform him that there might be a slight delay as the book is being stored at a friends home who we suspect could possibly have swine flu.

Customer Service rep X decided to take it upon themself to cancel the whole order. I do wish to sell this book to buyer and I take it buyer wishes to still buy. I have arranged to go collect the book from his garden shed while he is out tomorrow and have emailed Green Met to tell them this and ask them to reinstate the order which I never asked them to cancel in the first place.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I have relisted the book and can otherwise only hope said buyer logs on and sees my book still for sale with explanatory comments.

Does anyone have any contact for this company other than emails which are not getting replied to. I have also tried to flag this up on their forum. Thanks.

PS just in case you are on this site - if you live in Wales and have just bought a copy of Fear and Loathing from me please check the site and buy again...

It is probably a condition of their site that you have to dispatch within a certain amount of time. If you don't do this, then they'll cancel the order.

But I only got the email today and you get 3 days or so. I told them that the book would be sent out but possibly delayed by a day or so. IN fact I emailed them back to tell them there would be no delay as we had arranged for the book to be left in the shed avoiding contact but Rep X had already decided to cancel. I am now stuck with a book I want to sell and Mr X in Cardiff wants to buy but it has been taken off their system..in fact they ignored my email telling them we had made this arrangement and cancelled it anyway on their own volition for NO good reason.

I find it silly of them esp when the state of the country means that there may be possible delays in things like this..

Apparently they left a snotty message on their website saying they had cancelled it as the book was being stored at the home of someone we suspect may have swine flu.

I would like NHS direct to confirm you can catch swine flu after several days in the post on a book that was stored in a sealed box 6 months before swine flu had even been heard of and at no time came into contact with the virus. If they can do that then GM have a case for cancelling my sale. :whistle::rolleyes:
