Credit cards and insurance cover

I recently paid the deposit for my forthcoming holiday by credit card (over £100). There was no credit card charge for this. When I pay the balance, if I pay by credit card, I have to pay 2.5% extra. I intend to pay by cheque. Am I insured for the total amount of the holiday via my credit card?
Tony.

Yes, your entire purchase will benefit from Section 75 cover under the Consumer Credit Act.

IMO you have taken the correct course of action and avoided the 2.5% surcharge.
