Gatwick hotel near station

Travelling to Las Vegas next month from Gatwick. Hubby doesn't want to have to drive home after a 12hour flight so we are planning on going by train the night before. Anyone know of any hotels within a short taxi ride of the station?

i think there are lots of hotels. just depending what price you're prepared to pay. have a look at http://www.holidayextras.co.uk/airport-hotels/airport-hotels.html or do a search on forum.. there are plenty of suggestions.
i'm going end of july and will be staying at the Travelodge.. cheapest i found.
good luck.A friend is a present which you give yourself (R.Stevenson)

We used the travelodge in Feb - £26 for the double room. It was basic but had tea/coffee and a tv - ideal for the short space of time we spent there. They have a bar and they serve food, plus vending machines (v. expensive though - take your own bottled water/coke!) the only downside is there isn't anything else around, it's on like an industrial estate, but like I say, what do you need! There is a courtesy bus, I can't remember if you need to pay, you could always give them a quick ring. It took us less than five minutes to drive to our car park at the north terminal.0

There is a Hilton hotel next to Gatwick south terminal and a Sofitel next to the North terminal.
There is also a Moat House and a Marriot not too far away, some have deals on certain days.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Is there a bus or something from the travelodge to the airport?0

yes there is a bus shuttle and it's 3gbp per person. Starts at 3.30am. I phoned to double check as our plane is at 6am. She also said that a taxi will be around 9gbp to airport. just in case....A friend is a present which you give yourself (R.Stevenson)

Hi,
I actually work at Gatwick Airport and can help you!! You have a few hotels at the airport itself and many many more in near by towns Crawley & Horely. You have to becareful when looking into this because many of the hotels state they are at Gatwick but when it comes to they are on the outskirts and NOT actually at Gatwick itself and no where near the train stations. Gatwick train station is located in the actual terminal itself and a short walk will take you directly to both terminals. If you choose the North Terminal, you then need to use the free 'Transit' accross.
SOUTH TERMINAL
HILTON (which i think is quite expensive)
NORTH TERMINAL
SOFITEL
If you choose to use the cheaper hotels, which are found 'off airport' you can get an airport taxi 'Checkers Cars' directly, and i dont think these are too bad price wise. The taxi rank can be found in the South Terminal by the drop off point, short walk from the train station on the moving walk way and your there. Or you can use the free 'bus service' which thses can be found in the bus station, in the basement of the south terminal.
HORLEY/ CRAWLEY (JUST A FEW)
MOAT HOUSE
MARRIOTT
TRAVEL LODGE
Hope this helps!!0 -
If travelling from the hotel to the airport and/or train station in the morning peak allow for extra time because the shuttle buses can get stuck in the traffic, I'd pay extra for the Hilton or Sofitel to avoid this.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
