Scotch Guarded sofa- Please help

Hello

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me:o

I bought a scotch guarded sofa from DFS just short of 18 months ago and this morning my 5 month old puppy weed all over it.

I'm just wondering if anyone has similar cushion covers and has ever put them in the washing machine and if they turned out alright?

DFS have told me I will need to get a professional sofa cleaner out but this is quite a pricey option. I will do this as a last resort if I have to but I'm so tempted to put them in the washing machine just on a cool wash. Does anyone think this may be ok?

Any advice would be really helpful

PS sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place:o

Can you see what the sofa material is made of ? I didnt buy my sofa from Dfs but mine says dont wash but i washed it on a cool wash and put the covers back on when they came out of spin dryer, then put them in the garden to dry. Sun was out then.Oh they didnt shrink but i think i would have had trouble putting them back on if they were dry

hi i have a 2 year old sofa from dfs - i washed the covers - as its cream and with 2 children - what was i thinking!!
they have shrunk quite a lot - where the back cushions were just over the edge of the sofa they are now about 5 inches short, and the seat cushions have a 2 in ch gap in the centre and sides. i do wash the covers about once a month sometimes more, always on a wool wash.

hoping to have a leather sofa for xmas!!

  • Thank u for both of your replies.

In the end I washed them with the hand held cleaning tool on my carpet washer and then sprayed them really well with fabreeze and they don't smell at all.

I was soooo tempted to put them in the washing machine on a cool wash but as I couldn't find any instructions on the sofa or what material it was I'm kinda glad I didn't.

Thanks again to both of you
