Samarui Sword

I have rather reluctantly become the owner of a Samarui Sword .
The thought of having this 'thing' in my house doesn't thrill me - and I'd would quite like to get rid of it as quickly as possible! Is it legal to sell it ... and if so, does anyone have any suggestions about how this can be carefully done to ensure it goes to an adult collector etc. as I'm very much in the dark about these things but am absolutely 100% clear, it doesn't matter how much money offered, I wouldn't want to sell it to someone for 'bad' purposes - how do you tell?????
Sorry for the very basic questions - I've googled, but it just seems to come up with info. regarding the current ban on importing etc. not if it's already here!
If there's no-where I can legally sell it, then is it okay to hand it in to the local police station? I can't bear the thought of having it in the house!

If it's over 100 years old then it is legal to sell, otherwise it's not. (mostly) You could try a antique shop they'd be able to tell you

This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

My boyfriend had trouble with a samarui sword!!
His sister decided to buy him one as a gift whilst she was on holiday in Japan.
Lowe and behold it was confiscated at the airport, and all parties thought that was the end of it.
3 months later, he got a knock on the door, from a police man, who had kindly delivered said sword, and advised him of the implications if he ever got the urge to take the sword outside! It now lives in the garage.
He would love to get shot, but I think it would be more hassle than its worth!!I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.Mae West
