Marbles Closing account

Hi there. Can ayone help with this question. I have a marbles credit card. After a few late payments last year they closed my account but still consider I should be paying the debt off. Can anyone confirm if they are allowed to do this and would I have grounds for asking that the account be reopened as i have not missed a payment for over a year ?

Cheers

You can try. I imagine they want rid of you though.

Not really, you owe them money, and they don't want you spending any more of their money. So now you have to pay them back, but can't spend any more. They may re-open it for you as you've been keeping up with the repayments, you can only ask. But they won't write off the debt that you owe them.

Why don't you get yourself a new 0% Balance Transfer card and get the balance transferred over?

You could be rid of them and save yourself the interest payments by doing this.

Do you really think that they would close the account if it meant they had to write off the debt?

I doubt that the account is closed - it will still be on their books as a debt from you.

What they will have done is cancelled your card so that you don't expose them and yourself to further possible debts - that is not the same as closing your account.

If you have not recieved a default notice, the account will still be active but not the card as stated above
