PRICE_IS_RIGHT wrote: »I still think there should be more control over the supermarkets etc, who promote the stuff. I know it's a good starting point to tackle anti-social drinkers, but there are so many of us who are tempted to buy the shiny bottles of wine because of the promotions - we don't have outwardly anti-social behaviour, but we damage our own bodies and minds, which in turn can harm our own families. I think in France, the government has advised people not to drink wine at all.
Anyway, after a poor AFD August, I am back on track for September, and will have my own little war against the supermarkets by ignoring their stupid promotions and thinking of all the money I'm saving.
xx
I don't know if this applies to ALL of Scotland. But in my wee corner, big changes are afoot. In my local supermarket, from Sept 1st you can't buy alcohol before 10am and after 10pm. They are also only allowed one designated aisle for drinks, therefore promotions can't be all over the shop.We also swither - and 'guddle' and say 'wheeshit wumman' and many other silly scottish expressions -
Then again me heid is a'ways foo o' mince so I mostly blether rubbish or as its called up here - 'I am a yap-o-sh!!te' (a person who talks nonsense):rotfl:
Miss P I think I am bowing out on 15 or 16 (I lost count) half a month is better than no AFD's at all.
Will try harder next month.
Never heard "guddle" before but my head is also "foo o' mince" so it's maybe just passed me by :rotfl:
Well, another Monday morning. Have heard some feedback about our worry and maybe we have stressed all weekend for nothingMr FH and Ihave had no fun the past few days and practically steared clear of one another to avoid arguing infront of the kids. Mr FH did snap at me for something or other yesterday and DS1 told him not to speak to his mummy like that. Bless him :smileyhea
Thanks for the targets YM. Lets hope I can achieve mine this time!
Got to go. Work is calling.
Much love XNeed to start again0 -
I'm just hoping it works
Sure it'll be fine. You'll love it. We get out of the habit now and again and get a 'fastbake loaf' (i.e. from theshop), but the kids LOVE it when we make bread. It rarely gets chance to cool :rotfl:
If there's anything you need to know.....
go to Old Style... :rotfl:Neigh, neigh, and thrice neigh
