Bit harsh isn't it if it is true! :(

very harsh! although i can understand the fact they allow you some child expenses on your SOA,
but only one £5 activity? no pocket money? no presents? not good for the kids is it.......

That's a very good point - pocket money is specifically excluded from being an allowable expenses on an SOA, yet suspect a lot of people use child benefit for that.

You have hit the nail on the head, if they do this, other items will HAVE to be allowed.

I don’t think they realise the can of worms they are opening.

I get the feeling they may regret it;)

It's meant to be for the children so they shouldn't be able to take any!

That is my personal opinion anyway.

If they allow a holiday fund, and funding for birthdays, Christmas, and other activities, that argument does not hold as much weight as we would like, but the fact is many don’t.

They cannot have it both ways, the question is will anyone stand up and say so?

If they don’t, the IS will get away with it, as it most likely will only benefit the IS anyway on borderline IPA cases.

I gave my eldest all of her CB, although we fund her bus fairs and expenses for college she is not intitled to recieve the £30 a week payment all her friends receive (we earn too much.. so they say) I had to encourage her to go to college somehow

When I did a city and guilds I got £29.50 a week (in 1993) and gave half of it to my mum, I had practically nothing!
