All the mods shake in fear at that statement  ;D ;D

Away you go, you must love us really. ;D

Apart from having to start new threads for us, us Argosteers must be the most unrowdy lot on the whole board so you have an easy life with us and you don't have to come and shout at us to behave. ;)

  • Are all stores involved in this? Are there regional variations in initial availability?

My nearest store (25miles) is very small and seems low-activity but a city store is 40 miles away. Argos stores aren't thick on the ground in this rural area so only a high probability of large savings would justify travel to an Argos Extra store.

Annoyingly, it seems from the earlier threads that there's still the risk that they'd have sold any 'reserved' item by the time I could get there.

    Thanks

What you need to do in prep for the next sale is to make a list.  Firstly make a note of the Argos Ring and Reserve number (this can be found if you click on the link at the bottom of Aliasojos messages), and also make a note of your 'local' store no's, these are the last three digits of the stores tel no, which can be found on yell.com.  Then, as and when the new RO list becomes public, make a list of items that take your fancy, and then ring R&R and try to hunt down stock availability - it does help if you have a few stores to call.   There is somewhere a 'cheaper' alternative to the 0870 number, which as you can imagine if you've lots of items and stores to check, the call can end up costing a fortune.  If I find it I will post back, unless someone beats me to it.

As the sale progresses, there tend to be 'managers specials' that start to crop up and these vary from store to store, and can only be purchased instore and not on R&R.  Again, many helpful people on the Argos threads tend to post any specials as and when.

Above all, good luck and watch this space.

    Here it is:
For a cheaper way, ring: 0845 2443030 followed by 0035312161616# - this is 1p per minute.

I noticed that all of their DVD multipacks are now half price. A couple of these were before christams, but the now have 10 disc sets for £29.99, 5 disc sets for £14.99 and 3 disc sets for £8.99.

Please don't think that these are the usual naff old movies - they are all hollywood blockbusters and films that you have heard of !!! :)

Cordless drill 710/6938 was £39.99 now £19.99 and comes with a free cordless wet & dry vac (leaflet says worth £29.99) and you can get a half-price 143 drill bit set for £9.99 (701/7261) with it too.

Not quite RO but maybe a bargain for someone.
  • OOOH, I picked up a 'Singstar' pack for the playstation reduced from £30 to £15 (currently in Game for £38.99), includes two mics and the game. Great for parties!

Also, the Sharp camcorder reduced from £399 to £199, yesterday there was one in romford and one in stevenage..

Now here's a strange one, I bought a deep fat fryer for my wife in the sale just before xmas, they didnt have stock locally so I used the home delivery service.
    It was £24:99 plus delivery.

She didnt like it so I just returned it to our local outlet.

They had my internet reciept but still looked the price up in the catalogue to credit my card........with £49:99!!!

Now if that works every time... :o
All Dell'd up ;) several times over :)
