Hello you folks who care
This autumn I am riding solo, the 2,261 miles (3,639 kms) of the 2006 Tour de France route in aid of cancer charities from France, the UK and the USA. The UK charity is CLIC Sargent (Registered Charity No 1107328), a charity caring for children with cancer. I shall ride each stage complete, but probably have two extra rest days.
This endurance ride will celebrate my 65th birthday and is dedicated to my parents, colleagues and friends who have died of cancer.
I am sure each one of us has been touched in some way by this disease and I would ask for your support. Please visit my website at https://www.cancercharitytour.com where you will find details of the challenge, what I am about, and ways in which to donate. Or see https://www.justgiving.com/robinwestonscancertour

I am intending to ride the route as raced in the Tour stages (etapes) which apart from the time trials (2 of approx 50 kms), range in distance from 155 kms to 230 kms in the day. I shall have one or two breaks each day depending on stage distance, difficulty and weather. Last weeks training included my first back to back to complete a stage distance, and was completed without any problems. This week I shall clock up about 500 kms including on long day in three parts.
I have received much encouragement from other cyclists including some Brits met along the way.
With the support I am receiving and donations coming in, it is all worth the effort.
Please help to make this fundraising successful by donating and spreading the word.
Thank you.
