Over the top seller!!

I put in a Best Offer bid on an item I wanted.
Whilst waiting to see if the offer had been accepted, I found the same item cheaper on ebay, so retracted my offer.
Since then, I have recieved 5 emails from the original seller!
They have even given me a mobile number to contact them, and just now I have recieved an email practically begging me to purchase the item from them, as they have "limited stock" and they dont want me to miss out!!!
Is there anything I can do about this?? Report to ebay?
It obvious the poor seller is desperate to shift the stock, but harrasing buyers is not the way to do it!!

I'd just reply firmly saying you're no longer interested in the item they have for sale as you have managed to source it elsewhere. See where that gets you.0

I'd just ignore them. Theyll eventually get the hint0

surely putting in an offer on the item means you must keep to your side of the bargain? Im surprised the seller is been so nice, i dont think it will last long when they get the message you arent keeping to your side of the bargain. we dont need 'buyers' like you on ebay.0

Until that offer is accepted, you are perfectly within your rights to retract that offer. Think of it as a cooling off period.
Why should I pay more for something, when it is listed at a cheaper price elsewhere on the site??
For your information, I am a prefectly good ebay buyer and seller, with 100% over 200 ratings.I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.Mae West

Jumping to a few conclusions here eh. If the offer is retracted before the buyer accepts it that is allowed within the rules.
If the seller accepts an offer then you are bound to buy the item. So the OP acted properly within the rules. Maybe you need to read the post a little better before you jump to conclusions0 -
Well maybe what you should do is do your research before putting offers in on items?0
-
What have I said that is wrong, though? If yuo put an offer in on an item then morally you should go through with that. Why put an offer in without doing your research on how much the item is worth? Also, why would you offer more than you were willing to pay? If someone had put an offer on an item I were selling and then withdrew it for a lame reason like that then I wouldnt be happy either!Maybe you should do your research before replying to questions0 -

I put the offer in fair and square, it was for a resonable price (or so I thought), and I was perfectly happy to pay IF the offer was accepted.
However I found it cheaper elsewhere! Considerably cheaper than my offer! What sort of idiot would I be to pay more for something, regardless of when I did my "research".
The best offer retraction was accepted with no fuss, it is only now that I am being bombarded with almost begging emails, and that is the point of this thread....the emails, not whether I was right or worng in retracting my offer.I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.Mae West
