Studio Catalogue

I've just received my montly statement with a £20 fee for non payment, before it was due I sent them a direct debit instruction so I didn't have to pay over £1 call to make a payment to them every month and get it out of the bank without worrying for missing of payment for the above reason...

I rang them and they tell me they never sent me an instruction form... I must have imagined filling in those details then and putting the stamp on the letter and posting it in the post box as i waited for my son to come out of school.

They won't send me out another direct debit form until my account has been brought up to date which will be end of the month now...

I asked about the £20 charge as I insisted that this instruction was sent out and what happens now if they receive it will i get it took off then, I was told they will send me vouchers worth £30 to make up for it but i have to spent £20 before i can use them...

Are they in the rights to do this? I set up everything online myself to pay off my catalogue bills and I'm in good control with them except for studio which seems to cost me more and more. Being told I'm a liar over a direct debit form is unacceptable and will enclose a letter to the fact when i send them this months payment, oh that's right, they are so behind the times they don't even allow you to put card details in the giro form so a cheque is required. No harm, but my cheque is gathering dust somewhere as I've not needed it in so long a time, I wouldn't know where it is lol.

While I'm here, could the powers that be add an extra forum for catalogue companies beside the credit cards and Loans up the top, I think it will see some use. In the mean time, I've decided to pay off all my debts this month and have been given vouchers to be encouraged to spend more lol I think not!
