OMG! court today

Well,
never thought it would arrive but we go to court at noon, soooo nervous.

What is the required wardrobe? suit looks like money to burn jeans and a shirt? god i'm worried about the smallest things. Down side is we have to do it again on Tuesday as oxfordshire seem to operate a 2 appointment scheme, one to put in petition and pay, while the second is to recieve the final bits (not sure if we see a judge or it just gets handed to us).

Anyway, we'll let you know how it goes afterwards (if my nerves hold up!)

good luck at the court you will see the process is painless and rather quick in the chamber !

regarding the dress wear confortable clothes, me i wear a polo shirt and a jean ( i was back from work) but some wore some suit and all that ! when i was waiting there was a guy with his work uniform.

also take a book or something to entertain in case you have to wait .

dont worry too much you will see the staff are helpful .

thanks Fatou, I really am unsure what to expect because of this 2 appointment thing tbh. I have a feeling it will be just to see the clerk today to check forms and pay but who knows!

Jeans and a shirt sounds good ( far better than suited 'n' booted if its all just to sign and pay!) and hopefully the clerk can inform us what happens on the second appointment.

i think you right it might be jsut a case of giving your form, pay and maybe see the judges if he want to see you and then collect your BR order on the 2nd appointment.
i had done everything in one go mine but i had to wait for about 2 hours before seeing the judges but again it depends form the court as it seems they all have their own procedure to deal with BR order.
you will see once it done you will start to feel relieve it is all over ....

thanks worried, tbh I just want to get it over with. It seems like torture to have to go through 2 appointments with twice the worry and dread but it will be worth it for the long term relief and a new start!

hiya, I went with my brother yesterday to court for his bankruptcy and it was a lot less scarier than I thought. He wore a polo shirt and trousers and shoes and we had to wait about an hour and a half before seeing the Court Clerk who checked over the forms and took the payment. We were in there about 10 mins! The forms then went to the judge and came back within an hour and he was then free to go. Done!
I dont know how many times I went over the forms checking everything and double checking everything and came to the conclusion that if we'd done anything wrong or missed anything out then it wasn't done on purpose or to deceive anyone so we had nothing to worry about :)

Good luck and take a book and some water. You'll be fine x

well that was frustrating to say the least, all went ok with the forms and payment then the clerk informed us that as we had had an IVA they had to inform our nominees or something and so our next available date is the 4th of August.

Son now we have the added stress of waiting over 2 weeks again before we can go infront of a Judge.

Does anyone know the reasoning for this nominee thing? we had copies of our Certificate of non completion with us and it was us petitioning for BR not the IVE company......all very confusing :(
