we have a BT Freestyle 7110 Trio DECT trio phone set at home and the power supply of the base unit looks to have died, i don't think its still under warranty so need to call BT to see if they can sell me a spare power supply for it.
i first rang the number stated on the base of the unit: 08702403962
automated person said ring free on 0800 2182182
then the automated person says you have to ring 0906 5533505 at £1 per min
anyone know a cheaper way to call them?

i honestly dont know if this would work? But what about a universal power adapter....AcDc thing...with lots of different 'heads'?
I cant post links (as a newbie) ...but amazon sell them.
i bought one for 3 pounds so there are cheaper..... and other types and places to buy them.
just a thought?
BT are crafty, they use a weird RJ11 type connector for the power and the one for the base unit is different to the additional handsets units
so at a loss now, i think il just keep searching ebay for a base unit complete with AC adapter.0 -
If your renting your phone from BT it's a 18 month contract and as such 18 month warranty which comes with it. So give them a phone and check if and when your contract runs out.
If your phones are rented and still with in term they will replace the handsets for you.
Another option is to just rent another handset from them as they have some good deals on cordless handsets just now, such as the stratus single handset for less than £40 but retails at almost £70 so worth while giving them a call first.
Another option is just to use one of the other base units to charge the other phone. I've done this before when I managed to use a base unit when decorating and putting the unit in a safe place.
Hope this helps.0
