Vanquis Credit Card one off payment

Hello
Can anyone help with this question, I pay off my Vanquis card each month full balance
The next full payment is due on the 6th August which will take the full balance for the month of July. Yesterday I bought some goods £50 and I wish to make a one off payment to pay this £50 off.
If I was to make this extra one off payment it would not stop the full payment coming out in August would it as I want this direct debit payment to go ahead.
Has anyone done the above made a one off payment and still the direct debit went out as normal.
What is the best way to pay this extra payment I was just gonna do it via internet banking is that ok to do.
This is why Vanquis needs online banking so customers can just log into there accounts and do a manual payment and keep an eye on there account.

You could wait for other Vanquis cardholders to post their thoughts, but the effect of manual payments on DDs should be detailed in your T&C's, the FAQ on their website, or your DDI letter.
Is there any particular reason why you don't want to...
a) let the £50 be taken automatically (along with any other spend you have this statement cycle) on 6th September, or
b) make the manual payment on the 7th August instead?
EDIT: If this will be the first manual payment you have made to the account, I'd suggest sending a £1 test payment to check the timing/conduit, and then save the payee details for future use (and larger payments).0 -

Yeah I could do this but just wanted a zero balance will have alook at the t/c0 -
I do exactly as you mention on Vanquis.
If my credit card statement states (for eg), £50 to be paid on the 14th July, it will still take that £50 by direct debit even if I spend/pay extra over the month before hand.
It will still take by direct debit whatever is on your statement. Mine is also set up to take the full balance, but its only "programmed" to take the full amount as per the statement, not what the full balance is on the actual due date.0 -

Excellent thanks for the help.
Quick question how do you do the one off payments
It says you can send the payment via internet banking, over counter post office / bank or debit card
Which one do you use, thanks again0 -
I use online banking. In your booklet that came with the card/acceptance stuff, there is a bit in there about which account to send it to and use your card number as the payee reference. If you don't have that booklet anymore then give them a call for the details so you can set it up. Dead easy.0

update
payment was sent monday morning via online banking, any idea when it will credit onto the vanquis card0 -
Just checked again now and it's still not been credited onto the vanquis card should I call and speak to someone there.
The money left my Bank account on Monday morning I would have thought it would have shown on the account by now.
ps skylight how long does your payments take to credit onto your card when paying via online banking.0 -
Morning - it does take several days. I think it needs 3 clear working days so today would be the 3rd day therefore it would clear tomorrow (I think).0

I sent a payment took 3 full working days to show0
