Using an electric Paint Sprayer ?

Hi All,
I've got a load of Jali made MDF furniture to paint, it requires a coat of emulsion to seal and then a couple of thin coats of Acrylic based paint to finish. I did the first unit by hand and it took forever !
I see that Machine Mart (presume Screw fix and the rest do the same) sell an electric paint sprayer which is suitbable for emulsion for only about £20. I don't care if it only lasts 2 months, but has anyone had any experience of using one of these and could you let me know if this is a good idea to buy or not.
thanks in advance.
Chris

I'm no DIY expert but I did use a paint sprayer which I borrowed. Problem I found was when spraying, your arm tends to move in an arc which gives a big build up of paint in the middle. I'd say practice somewhere first if possible. Or maybe I'm just rubbish at painting!0

We have a paint sprayer and found the paint separated in it and when finished the paint that was about 10-15 minutes old had loads of black vertical runs in cream paint. ho hum. Last time we used that and back to the roller!! Money well spent - NOT!!0

We have just bought a house which needs totally redecorating - which we are going to try and do before we move anything in. As we are starting off doing the whole place the same colour, we have considered using an electric sprayer to get the walls and ceilings done quicker.
So if anyone has any further advice/experience as to whether this works or tips on which sprayer to consider - buying or hiring etc, I'd be ever so grateful...0 -

You will do it a lot quicker and cleaner with a roller.0 -
Just reviving this thread as I'm hopinf spraying technology has come on a bit inthe past 3 years. I want to paint my Banisters in my house and really have no enthusiasm in tackling it with a paint brush. has anyone any recent experience of using paint sprayers??? any good or should I just stick to the paint brush??
any advise on best machines to use. I don't mind buying one if it can be used for fence paint/stain to as I have about 30 fence panels to paint also (front & back)
any advice would be grately appreciated.0
