Hi All
Being new to credit, I tried to open an Abbey Bank account and they declined me and gave me a Basic Account with a cash card
Having read these forums, I decided to try for a Citibank account
I didn't push my luck as I just wanted a debit card so opted for the Citibank Access account and also ticked the box for a Flexible saver.
I have today received the welcome pack to say I have been accepted and will be getting a visa debit card - it would have taken at least 6 months with Abbey to get this so I am very thankful to the forum and Citibank for being sympathetic
Thanks:j

That's great.. Congrarulations I would warn you that the citibank staff are very rude at times and you will only ever be considered for an overdraft if you have 1250£ going in for 3 months in a row.- HSBC Premier - Mastercard £9,000 - Overdraft £6,000 - MBNA Platinum £3k (£2,500 @ 0% SPENT) - American Express Platinum £6,100 - Coutts Classic Card £5,000 - House Of Fraser Recognition Mastercard / Santander Cards £250 -
- Bank Americard Limit $3100 - Citi Mastercard Limit $700 - WalMart Discover Card $2,500 Limit -0 -
Thnaks for the advice, although I will be paying in around 2K a month so that shouldn't be a problem.
Do you know how they stack up in issuing a credit card, is this internaly scored also, would it be worth waiting 3-6 months and asking or do they pre-approve like HSBC?
Anyone with Citibank to confirm?0
