Or, am I believing their hype too much
Yes you are. Debt collection agencies consist mainly of spiky-haired minimum-wage drones from Leeds who write letters / make phone calls demanding money.

They have no more powers to take anything than I have to charge you £50 for taking too long to read this posting. Carry on ignoring.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

As big as NCP are they are just a money grubbing company like all the rest. Ignore them and they will eventually go away. Had NCP been acting as an agent for a council then that would be different but as they are threatening debt collectors then they are acting on their own.
Debt collectors are just a company who can only ask you to pay up, you are getting confused with court appointed bailiffs. As NCP don't do court there's not a problem.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

It will be a good anger management/anger expression opportunity for me then lol

Thanks for helping me stay strong
I think I'll keep a log of their threats - all just for fun like
  • Just an update - I've got a "Pre Legal Notification"

They are saying all sorts will happen, court fees, solicitors costs, CCJ, warrant of execution, blah blah de blah

I think I am well and truly in their automatic letter generation database

At least it gives you some spare printer paper, if they have been kind enough to furnish you with letters with blank space on the back.:D

I plan to use my letters to print coupons on the back, I am always running out of paper so am grateful for what carp we might get sent for the private ticket which was plonked on my family car last month. Funnily enough I still can't recall who was driving that day...;)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
