Need an account that wont charge for paying in Euros

Hi guys

One of the companys I work for has moved its office to Belgium. This has lead to me getting a bit of a crap deal for two reasons.

1. They are paying me the equivalent of what I earnt in Sterling in Euros. So I am losing out on my bank's exchange rate and being paid less than before.

2. As well as the above, my work expenses are incredibly high and my bank are charging me commission for anything coming in as Euros. Therefore, I'm effectively paying for part of my expenses which are all out of pocket!

My account is with NatWest. Does anybody know of a good current account that will not charge me commission for a transfer of Euros and with a decent rate?

Unfortunately they wont since I've already asked them. So Nationwide definitely wont charge me for receving a transaction in Euros?

What about a citibank euro account? However I think you need to maintain a minimum amount. Have a look at their website for more info.

Not totally sure about this and innovate is the girl to put you right (if she can be attracted to this thread)!
If you had a current account in Belgium, an account with moneybookers.com and your UK current account, you would minimise your losses at a stroke.
If you can sort out the Belgian account, the rest would follow.
Moneybookers is the key - they do xfers at a tiny cost and at the official European Bank exchange rate (or very close to it).

As I said however, I'm not 100%. Do your own research and perhaps send a private message to innovate to get her involved - she is very helpful.

Remember, with Belgian accounts, they are not free, you normally have to pay a service charge.

However OP has already said that the company won't pay his / her expenses in Euros.
