Look at the current Walkers crisps trips offer - it includes half price entry to Warwick Castle and 2-4-1 at Shakespeares birthplace and Anne Hathaways cottage

Easy to get to the Cotswolds from there. Evesham, Cheltenham, Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold.
Coventry cathedral and motor museum, or, if the weathers not great, shopping or the Sealife Centre in Birmingham.

Thanks for all the advice, got the walkers crisps vouchers for Warwick castle and a few others so should keep us busy, if someone could just sort out some sunshine now !!
  • Go to the Dirty Duck pub (all the actors drink in there, tis where I saw David Tennant and Patrick Stewart when Hamlet was on!).

Go and see Shakespeare's grave - unlike the birthplace that costs nothing (although the church does ask for a voluntary donation).

There is a very nice non-chain Italian restaurant round the corner from the Courtyard theatre that I'm trying to remember the name of. Not sure if there'd be vouchers for that though but the usual generic chain places are there.

Laugh at various Shakespeare-themed tat in tourist shops.

Go to Warwick itself, not just the castle.

If the weather is nice hopping on and off the (circular - a ticket for the day) open top bus was good and it stops near all the best places to see including Anne Hathaways "cottage". I think it stops at 5pm ish. Saves the problem of finding somewhere to park at each place too!
  • Hire a boat (row or motor) and marvel at the lovely riverside properties, then have a picnic on the riverbank. If you have children there is crazy golf and an excellent playground in the park.

I would recommend that you visit some of the official Tourist websites such as https://www.visittheheart.co.uk https://www.enjoywarwickshire.com https://www.visitcoventryandwarwickshire.co.uk and https://www.shakespeare-country.co.uk Many of the websites such as Visit the Heart and Enjoy Warwickshire have a vouchers section where you can download some fantastic deals. Startford-upon-Avon is an ideal touring for the whole of the West Midlands. There are direct trains to Birmingham where you can visit the Bull Ring, Cadbury's World and the Jewellery Quarter etc. Within wider Coventry & Warwickshire you have Kenilworth Castle, the Heritage Motor Centre, Coventry Cathedral, Coventry Transport Museum, Compton Verney Art Gallery, Rugby (the birthplace of the game).

    Hope these ideas help.
