I found the comments re cards really good - also the comments re long-term users.

TBH, I'd often wondered quite what posters had to write - short of death threats or something, posting non-stop sexual slurs didn't manage to get DD banned. It took racial slanging-matches to achieve that. I now realise it was because he was a long-term poster.

The sooner those kinds of posters can be removed, the better.

I know what you mean :(

I often see advice posted by newbies unthanked, but then a long standing poster gives the same advice 2 posts later and gets lots of thanks:confused:

    No cliques my @rse

You know what happened to little Johnnie Jealousy and Emily Envy dont you.

I don't post on this board often. I do read and thank though :)

I am like that on DFW, don't quite have the balls to post advice even though I have picked up a fair bit but will thank when good advice is given.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

You should post. Even if only a fraction of your advice helps someone its worthwhile.

...most extreme ... Old Style board ... loads of thanks ... every time you post a short message to say you've been to Tesco and got loo roll on special offer or something you get loads of thanks from the other grocery challenge people.
    Genius isn't it!
(P.S. I did thank you for your post)

I'm too scared that I have got my wires crossed or will be giving out the wrong advice....down to confidence I suppose.

I would so hate someone to go down the wrong road if even a tiny amount of the advice was wrong, I'm a sensitive little flower in that respect. :D

  • Thank you, and yes, I do get thanked sometimes, I was being a wee bit glib, which is not attractive but I've been in jokey peacemaking mode for a while. I don'trally make that many serious posts any more, I'm fed up of the rows. Sometimes I type them out then delete them/don't post them, bcause I don't want to poke a hornets nest:o which is a shame because sometimes the few valid points I might have made don't get coveredby someone else. :o

I see both sides ofthe thank argument, in truth.

    i think you are wrong...

I wouldn't worry about that. As someone will soon correct you if you give wrong advice or express the wrong opinion.

Often there's not right or wrong its down to personal choice. When people get upset its often because you've hit a nerve unknowingly.
