You do not really need a car though, you can get around perfectly OK without one.

You will need a car if you hire a villa - is this what you was trying to say tori but got muddled?

We have been loads of times and never had a car, we usually split our stay so a week at Disney a week near Universal and get cabs everywhere - even to the supermarket. We spent less on cabs than we would have done on hiring a car.

Reading back i dont see how i got it muddled ? i asked if off-site was an option, you would need a car but can get some nice villa's cheap

It was me not reading properly, I did not see the off site bit :o

The villa option is not for me, they make enough mess in an apartment and I know I'd end up doing housework. Nah..... :D A town house is going to be interesting this year, I have to say.

Thanks for the replies, love the idea of getting a free dining plan! will keep looking online, I want to go March 2013, kids will be 11, 7 and 7 but dh now thinks the year after might be better as the twins will be 8!

I will keep coming on here to keep an eye on this thread as it is really helpful. I think a villa will be a good idea for us but if I could do it in a disney hotel that would be even better I guess..

    Thanks again all :)

Another advantage of staying onsite is the free transport or free parking, every day will cost about $15 in parking fees.

Hiya, does anyone have any experiences of buying park tickets from the ticket booths located in the front of the restaurants?
Ive aways been wary but they are static sites so dont see how they could be dodgy and if there was a problem they are always there to go back to surely.

They are illegal...a big police operation last year on the 192 closed down a lot of the operations but noticed last week a few have sprung up again.

Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole..all tickets are biometrically scanned, so they won't work...you may get lucky and a cm manually scan but you may get asked to go to gs to sort and they will confiscate the ticket.

My mum is a veggie and a lot of places do dishes not on the menu if you ask, also a lot of places will cook dishes minus the pasta etc. We found on site restaurants at WDW to have the more comprehensive dishes though.

Its been quite a while since I went to orlando but we're planning a trip this year. We've nearly always had a villa, but times have changed recently. Do most accept credit cards? If we paid with a debit card I assume we're not covered should anything happen?
Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!
