hi,
i'm a student, or i was until a few weeks ago, and i got a tax refund cheque in the post. Somehow, between opening the letter and getting ready one day, i lost it. me and my mum think it slipped down the back of the fireplace, and ripping the fire off the wall will cost a fortune. is there any way i can order a new one, or maybe write to the tax office and tell them i haven't recieved it? if so, which is a best idea? also, which tax office do i write to? does it matter? thanks a lot guys, i'm going on holiday in a few weeks, and that 150 quid could really come in handy!

....I'd rather have two minutes of wonderful, than a lifetime of nothing special....

I'd phone them up and tell them the truth. If you say you didn't recieve it, they'll probably tell you to wait, as it might be stuck in the post, especially with all the strikes going on.
If you're honest, they will probably cancel the one they sent you and send a new one, or let you collect it. Then you should have it in time for your holiday.
Good luck!Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
I doubt you'll get in a few weeks so say the least.
Contact your local tax office.
