Slighty confused!! Bank Charges!

Hi all
I have really got stuck into reclaiming all our bank/credit card charges, PPI's etc and have came across paper work in which I had forgot about.
We sent a letter during July 07 and received all the relevant statements etc from the bank. The charges amounted to approx. £400 without interest. We haven't banked with this bank for approx. 2 1/2 years and the claim was put in after we had closed our account.
The last contact that was made by the bank was stating (in a really long winded letter) that our case is on hold until the test case etc etc and we could keep up to date with what is happening.
I noted on their website today:
What does this mean for complaints?
As previously agreed with the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Authority, the normal timetable for dealing with customers’ complaints about unauthorised overdraft charges will continue to remain on hold until July 2009 or until the courts have reached a decision, whichever is sooner. The FSA agreed to this, as long as the banks continue to meet conditions that protect your rights.
Does this mean I should contact them again with regards our claim or should they automatically send acknowlegement of our claim.
Thanks in advance again for your input :Tand sorry to be a pain in the rear:p

Did they send you anything at the time stating that it was on hold?*starburst* wrote: »Hi all

Is it on hold at the bank or the Courts?0 -
Thanks for the quick reply.
The letter rec'ed in Aug 07 (a month after our first contact with them) stated the claim is on hold - I assume they mean it is on hold with them as we didn't go any further than sending our 2nd letter with the amount we wished to claim back.
Thanks again.0 -
Does anybody know should I contact the bank again or would the bank contact us?

The bank will have registered your claim and it's not necessary to contact them again until the conclusion of the OFT test case, although there's no harm in a gentle reminder that even though they haven't contacted you since, you haven't forgotten them.0
