redundant and insurances wont pay for 9 weeks

my husband was made redundant on may 13th he had 9yrs 6mths service he was given 9weeks notice that he did not have to work because of this a loan and mortgage wont get paid until after the 9 weeks have passed anyone know if we can get help with our mortgage until this is paid his jobseekers was paid with not many problems help or advice anyone

Was he given redundancy pay that would cover it in the meantime? Is the 9 weeks in the terms and conditions of your insurance?

Sounds like he got 9 weeks Pay in lieue Of Notice (AKA PILON) As such rather than have him work his notice the company are paying him to sit at home for the next 9 weeks as such he IS being paid for those 9 weeks so the insurance wont pay out until after then

As Lonestar says, he shouldnt be being paid JSA while he has PILON?
If he is the only breadwinner then he can go on income based JSA and then after 13 weeks you would be entitiled to intrest payments on the mortgage up to 200k.

Your complaint is what then?
Your husband IS being paid for this 9 weeks. The company would rather not have him in work though.

Pay the loan and mortgage with the nine weeks wages as you normally would.
