Debit Card Fraud - ASDA

I logged onto internet banking today and noticed that "ASDA Home Delivery" had taken £180 - I have not purchased anything from ASDA.
I immediately rang the bank and they are disputing the transaction and I have cancelled the card.
Am I likely to get this money back? Can I complain to ASDA in the hope of additional compensation for not performing the necessary checks? One would hope that online grocery orders should be delivered to the registered bank address in the first instance?
I just hope no more fraudulent transactions are waiting to appear on my statements as I have very little cash to to last me.

Hi
I was wondering if you ever got this sorted, and if so, what was the process? I have had EXACTLY the same thing happen to me, for exactly the same amount of money.....Both ASDA and my bank are being pretty unhelpful thus far!!!!!

I had a fraudulent transaction last year and Lloyds were great. I spotted it quickly (within 2 days) and reported it to Lloyds. The instantly cancelled the card and told me i would be refunded within 48 hours and I was.
That said, my transaction was a well known fraudulent one. A small PAYG phone top up. Usually put through to see if the card is active and working before they then go on a spree.
Was the ASDA branch used your local or a distant one? If its a local branch then the bank are likely to be suspicious of your report.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). the worst thing on fraud is you don't know if you'll get your money or not, i was told it could take a month, this is the longest days of my life:(0

As long as you haven't compromised your card security by sharing your PIN etc. there is no reason that you should not be refunded by the bank.0

I had this too a couple of years ago. My card details were used fraudulently with Asda home delivery - miles across the country from where I live. And also at O2 online. There was a second transaction attempted with Asda but they became suspicious and declined it. I'm with Lloyds and got my money back in a couple of days.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

Lloyds will refund within 48 hours if the fraud is pretty obvious. (i.e. £15 on a pre pay phone card). If its using a local retailer then they will be less inclined to believe you as most frauds do not use local retailers. In cases where local shops and cashpoints have been used, its nearly always a friend or relative using your card.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). no thing is, they said it could take 4 weeks as
i joined a gambling site, and they ask for your id, tsb said because you have been on the site, thats how it could take 4 weeks.
thing is the site asked for id, so i couldn't say i wasn't on it.0 -

This is interesting. We've also had a fraudulent transaction from Asda Home Delivery. We've got it refunded from the card issuer now but they didn't seem particularly concerned either. We had to fill in a form confirming that it was a fraudulent transaction and it took about a month before it was refunded back to the card.0
