To verify or not to verify paypal

Hello,

Just wondering if there are any disadvantages to verifying my Paypal account. Have been using it for a while and limits are decreasing. What happens if you verify the account? Any disadvantages?

    If you verify your paypal account then the sending limit is removed and you can send any amount without any restrictions.

    Doesn't verification verify your address so that the seller is covered (assuming other criteria are met!) and hence won't refuse to send?

    I've just recently gone through the verification process - very quick and easy after 2 small amounts placed in bank account. I had reached my spending limit and couldn't use my Paypal account which was a bit annoying as I had a bit of a balance built up. Confess that I didn't really understand the benefits to me particularly of becoming verified since I have never encountered any problems either buying or selling up to now - maybe just luck I don't know. Anyway it's quite painless.

    Verify before you need to......I bought something at the weekend and couldnt pay until I verified.....3-5 days :(

    Am almost verified... got to the "Supply merchant information" it... not sure what to put here. I am not a "merchant". I just sell junk I dont need anymore!

    Anyone help out? :)

    I questionned this a couple of weeks ago. You have to complete the merchant details. I just made something up! I stayed as close to the truth as possible though.

    As far as I know, the information is only used for PayPal's own research. I suppose they can say that 100% of their verified users are merchants!!
