Hi

Can anyone advise me if there is another suitable outgoing SMTP port (other than the standard port 25) for Yahoo mail in Outlook 2003.

AOL appears to block many of them as unsolicited bulk mail. And others just refer me too my ISP.

In the end most (not all) will go but it takes me ages and I have to shut down and restart Outlook.

    Hi there

unfortuanatly port 25 is the default SMTP port & 99% of webmail providers use this.

i would try this as a test

    from the command prompt
    try
    telnet smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk 25 , you should get a " message: 220 smtp003.mail.ukl.yahoo.com ESMTP

which means you can connect to yahoo's mail server , i would try this test next time your email in outlook failsto connect to yahoo to establish whether it is yahoo/outlook or a firewall problem

hope this helps a little bit

    Thanks Xtreme...

Will give it a try next time.

But I suspect it the word "EBay" that is causing the bulk mail notification.
