My Bank is offering a free McAfee Security download for 1 year.
I understand that I have to uninstal any existing McAfee before logging on to my internet banking and to follow the link to the free download, but do I turn on my Windows Firewall first, then uninstal my existing McAfee, soon to expire, then log on to the internet bank and download and then do I turn off the Windows Firewall afterwards. Any help and advice would be appreciated.

My personal advice is to steer well clear of mcafee
But if you MUST do ~
Turn on windows firewall
Use the MCAFEE REMOVAL TOOL
http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507
Download the Mcrapee:idea:0 -
Thank you AliEnRIK for your help.
So you like McAfee then ?
I found the link you gave me and watched the video for downloading the Removal Tool so thanks again.
If I go ahead with it, do I turn my Windows Firewall back off again after installation.
Have you had problems with McAfee in the past ?0 -
Installing mcafee should automatically switch off windows firewall
Mcafee is one of the worst anti virus programs I know of. Its slow, not as secure as it should be and causes many problems on various computers. Just today somones posted that they have mcafee but MALWAREBYTES ( A very good secondary hard drive scanner) found a LOAD of malware which was effecting the computer. Mcafee SHOULD have stopped it, but as usual it failed
Personally speaking I wouldnt touch it with a baregpole:idea:0 -
Thanks AliEnRIK. I am taking your advice. It's been very helpful.0

A previous version of their anti-virus software was a total disaster, but I used the 2008 version for a year (it was free with my broadband subscription).
I found McAffee's spam filter pretty good.0
