Hiya, i had my medical going on 4 weeks ago and still no answer
I have been told there is a backlog at the minute.....
My question is, i was told the doctor can only give me sick notes for upto 6 months, i am currently at 5 months.
What if it fails? if i appeal do i have to keep sending sick notes in?
What happens in a months time when the doctor cant give me anymore?
Im really worried and its making me more ill.
Has anyone got any experience in this, i would be greatful.
Thanks

There is no time limit on how long a Doctor can give you sick notes.
If you fail and appeal you have to carry on sending in sicknotes.0 -
Oh right, my doctor said he could only do them for 6 months? maybe i got it wrong..

hi dane -katie
I have been on the esa since nov 08
in feb 09 i had my medical
waited till march 24th for results and got turned down
so i appealed.
I had to make a new claim for esa still got sick notes from doctor
The appeal got turned down so it went to a tribunal on the 7/7
I won it so now waiting to see which work group i will be in
my money has to be back dated to march 24th
but they are slow at doing this . i rang yesterday and its not even on there system to say i won tribunal ?
so i just have to wait a bit more longer
good luck

This is not correct. He may have misunderstood, if you "pass" the medical (or win on appeal) you then don't need certificates from your Doctor.
However, your work may still want to see them.0
