I've fitted both Magnet trade and Howdens kitchens. There is little between them. If Magnet Trade jhave given you a lower preice, take it to howdens who will beat it.

In terms of stock, London Kitchen Fitter is right. Howdens kitchens are ex-stock, whereas Magnets aren't. this means if you have a damaged door etc, Howdens can replace it immediately, but Magnets can't. This is quite important if your kitchen fitter is booked for only so many days. He won't want to be coming back 2 weeks later when amagnert finally deliver the damaged part.

I think you'll find that Magnet keep all their carcases in stock, and depending on the branch, a few different ranges of frontals. If something is out of stock, you'll be waiting a maximum of 8 days, but it can usually be sourced quicker from another branch.

Oh yeah and Howdens only offer a 5 year guarantee, whereas you get 15 years at Magnet.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

But if I'm fitting a kitchen and have 4 days to do it, I expect all the carcasses etc to be there. If somethging is damaged and needs replacing I can't wait 8 days. Kitchen fitters don't want to have to go back to a job 8 days later because of Magnets Stock management problems. Howdens stuff is ex stock so there is no comparison.

Ive fitted kitchens from both Magnet and Howdens, accounts held at both and I think it all depends on the branch you deal with. I have had great service from my Howdens branch over the years and average service from Magnet.

Personally I prefer Howdens purely down to the fact that if theres a problem I phone up and its sorted there and then. Howdens bought out a set of taps 30 miles from the branch within 4 hrs (delivered by the rep).

Oh and no I ve never worked for Howdens and neither have any of my family members......:D

NB: I'm sure there are good branches of Magnet Trade too.Quality of both is much the same IMO.
