I thought it didn't exist any more or was just a cargo route? Could be wrong though0

no i was on phone to them the other day. It is still running. I had forgotten about it myself. Thanks0

who runs it? I can find passanger ferries to douglas and I can find cargo ferries Belfast to Heysham (and Dublin to Heysham) but they say they specialise in hazardous loads  - would be genuinely interested in this if you have more info0

I did a quick search and it came up as IOM who run it. Don't have a clue who they are though!0

IOM is the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. The only passenger ferry route to/from Heysham that I'm aware of is the one from/to Douglas on the Isle of Man.0

Ooh well, you learn something new every day. Did you get quotes from other ferry operators? How does it compare price-wise?0

Yes got other quotes which were dearer, they told me on phone it includes tv and cabin. He said its a small sailing that only takes a dozen at a time. Its also closer for us at both ends too. Thanks for al the replies.0 -
Totally overlooked Warrenpoint!! Not sure if I would like to spend a 9 hour daylight sailing on a small freight ferry like that! (especially with children)0
