i heard about companies who say you can have your credit card written off by virtue of the consumer credit act 2007.
however whats the probability of success?

You can try and do it yourself for free. These so called companies usually charge you an upfront fee for each account, then if they are succesful they will want a percentage of money claimed. After all that, have never read of any success stories that can be validated.
The way to start doing it yourself is to request a CCA from card or loan providor. There is a CCA thread running on this site were you will find more details.0
